Household goods boxed and gone….check!
Cleaning for final housing inspection….check!
Working on three new purse designs….check!
Yup, that is right! I have 3 new purse sketches completed. I’m super excited to get to my sewing machine and whip up a few tester bags for testing. These purses will incorporate the feminine touch found in all My Bragg Bags, while being new and modern. They are not like anything seen in my shop & are classy & sophisticated. Nothing like anything on the market for military purses.
Hardware, piping, rings….oh my!
I can’t wait to show my faithful fans my concepts & let a few of them test my new purses before they go on the market.
In addition to being able to test new purses, I am also going to be having a photo contest for my fans to compete in.
In anticipation of my reopening mid- July, I will be hosting (3) THREE military themed photo contests!!! The winner of each catagory getting a $50 gift certificate toward anything in my store. Stay tuned for catagories and rules.
36 hours and my life is in a box

One of the tougher things abou
t being a military wife is something we face every 2-4 years. We have to watch your entire house packed in under 3 days and placed into cargo sized crates for shipment to your next destination.
In under 36 hours, my whole life and all my belongings will be boxed, taped and thrown on a tractor trailer to be either moved by semi truck or by sea from Alaska to Maryland.
Ask any military wife and we can all give tips on how to live for a month, two months, sometimes more with just what you can take on a plane or pack into your car. Most of us own at least one air mattress to sleep on while we finish clearing housing or until we get our household goods delivered.
Most families look forward to buying homes and bringing their kids home. I know many wives who can remember each house that was their first family home. The home we are saying good bye to at Fort Richardson, Alaska is such home. While I didn’t bring my daughter home in this house– this surely is going to be the first home she remembers. Three months ago, I brought my son home from the hospital to this home. We have such fond memories & I don’t want to leave it. Can a tornado pick it up and take it to our “Oz” at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital?
In 36 hours, my possessions will be heading out the door. By Friday, we will be living on an air mattress and cleaning a home for housing inspection. After that, a cross country trek from Alaska to Maryland by way of ferry and car with two small children , two cats and a husband.
This isn’t the first time we will be moving, and it isn’t the last. Just because I am becoming a more seasoned mover–doesn’t mean saying goodbye is easy. The first step is seeing our stuff packed, the next is saying goodbye to our military family.
Army threw us a curveball!

So the Army has thrown us a curve ball. We have orders to PCS to Walter Reed. So with a 3 month old, 3 year old and two cats we will be trekking by car from Alaska to Maryland. We plan on taking 3 weeks to travel & visit many family/ friends along the way.
What does this mean for my business?
It means I will stopping custom orders April 15 to clean the house, get rid of items we don’t want and prepare for the movers to take our goods. I will keep the shop open until May 2 so my ready-to -ship items can be purchased.
We are looking to get into Maryland the end of June. We hope to find a house and move in early July. Once we are settled and our household goods delivered, I will reopen. This will happen as early as mid-late July, but may happen sometime in August. I hope everyone understands & I will update this blog and my Facebook page as we travel and arrive.
Good bye Alaska— hello Washington, D.C!!!!
